App UI Design
Shudder app is an audiobook app that was conceived to allow smartphone users to experience ghost stories in a way that has never done before. The app design was conceptualised with UX Research and some assumptions using Speculative Design. With a clean and conceptual approach, the project was worked from ground up that included the process of wireframing, illustrations, user flow and UI design.
As the design of this app is unique, the different set of features were factored into it’s design for maximum possible usability while engaging the user. The user should have a continuous rhythm for the different actions. Not only does it make the app learnable but also helps users to take the advantage of the app in a more efficient manner.
The app was designed with horizontal parallax scrolling visuals that connected with an ambient sounds seamlessly integrated into the background and set the experience and tone for the audiobook app before the user starts playing the stories.
The UI design was built for an immersive and engaging experience—from the introduction of the haunted mansion, to the stories itself, the app sets the mood for the user.
Some interactive elements that were included was a surprise "visit" from the Devil when the user scrolls to the last story—something that only happens once, and then revealing the story cover and synopsis again.
